DONC

DONC is a system designed to aid animal shelters in animal information tracking to expedite each pet’s process of finding a good home. The more information available about an animal, the more likely they are to get adopted. There are 6.5 million animals taken in to shelters annually and 4.1 million are adopted each year.

Existing methods used by NGOs to keep track of animals lack consistency and efficacy. Shelters are overflowing because they are taking in animals faster than they are being adopted. DONC is pioneering an untouched market, as all existing animal care tracking systems are simply tracking appointments for businesses such as pet groomers or vets.

The DONC System improves the lives of employees and volunteers of participating shelters by minimizing the time and energy spent tracking paperwork so they can spend that energy caring for animals, which is what they are passionate about. DONC also improves the lives of pet adopters by giving a medical and behavioral background of their new pet. Many new pet owners worry about keeping their pet healthy and happy, and knowing as much of their background as possible can aid that process. Most importantly, it improves the quality of life of each animal that enters the shelter.
